Here's just a small sampling of the Special Programs the Moses Aaron Foundation offers.
the Moses and Aaron Foundation (MAF) in conjunction with other organizations and professionals, provides assistance, (financial, food, clothing, home, help) to allow the parents to have the help necessary to avoid having to make a hasty decision regarding the future welfare of a special child. We have also delivered over 5000 toys to children in hospital for extended days.
Medical equipment program
Being that not all wheelchairs or medical devices are covered under Medicare/Medicaid, or other forms of insurance, the MAF wheelchair drive has provided over 30 specialized wheelchairs to handicapped children in the tri-state area. These wheelchairs are purchased from, or donated by, medical companies.
Fitness Equipment program
Together with Bally’s Fitness Centers, the MAF has provided six fitness therapy rooms to organizations and schools for special children providing them with a wide array of equipment. This ongoing program has achieved recognition from both the State and City of New York. Another ten fitness centers will be placed this year. In addition, the Foundation has provided five facilities with SEGA entertainment centers.
The MAF has organized an annual summer concert in the Catskill Mountains of New York, benefiting Special Children and their families. Each year for the past three years, the MAF have provided one thousand tickets to more than 15 organizations, camps, schools, and parent support groups, to enable the Special Children to come as the guests of honor. Annually over three thousand people have attended this unique concert where many children come on stage and preform with the leading stars of the Jewish music world. The MAF was recognized by the State of New York and the City of New York for having brought together many diverse and varied organizations for these historic events. For the past three years, New York City has declared the day on which the Summer Concert is held, The Moses Aaron Foundation Day. At today’s concert in the Jacob Javits Center in New York, more than 2400 tickets will have been given gratis to Special and Outstanding children and their families to attend as Guests of Honor. 5500 people are expected to attend this historic concert.
The MAF assists institutions by providing scholarships to children who may not be able to attend schools without financial aid.
The MAF has provided over 3,000 new sleepers to foster care programs and needy families.
With contributions made to the MAF, a Torah was purchased which is now available for special events and services in hospitals on an as need basis. We hope to expand this program in the coming months.
